After the successful seminar for representatives of the national sport delegations taking part in EYOWF 2011, the organisers of the European Youth Olympic received praise at the 39th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in Belgrade. The highest Olympic officials voiced appreciation of the state of preparations of the event in the Liberec Region which is due to start in less than two months.

The medals, which will be distributed to the best athletes at the European Youth Olympic Games (EYOWF) 2011 in the Liberec Region, will look like shiny diamonds. The author of the design, Barbora Hrubá, a student at the Higher Professional Art School in Nový Bor, won in a competition among art schools organised by the Liberec Region.

On 24th November, the Clarion Grandhotel Zlatý Lev resembled a documentary film festival for future film-makers. Secondary school students from the Liberec Region presented their film portraits of elite Czech athletes, Patrons of the European Youth Olympics, which they had been working on from September until mid-November. A jury of ten had to choose the winner during the gala event.

In the week from 15th to 21st November, organisers of the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOWF) 2011 in the Liberec Region have passed the biggest and most thorough inspection of their preparations. After meeting with members of the EOC Coordination Commission for EYOWF 2011 and subsequently with the Technical Delegates for each of the sport disciplines, there was a crucial meeting, a seminar with representatives of all the European National Olympic Committees from the participating countries.

All seven venues of the European youth Olympic (EYOWF) 2011 left generally positive impressions on the technical delegates who visited the organisers of the Festival and inspected the venues from 17th to 18th November. Delegates will supervise the smooth and appropriate course of the competitions and for many of them this two-day visit was the first opportunity to personally walk through the venues.

In compliance with the schedule, between 16th and 17th November, organisers of the winter Festival in the Liberec Region passed their last inspection by the EOC Coordination Committee. The Committee made up of the President Janko Dvoršak from Slovenia, Vladimir Geraschenko from Ukraine and a new member Joseph Cassar from Malta, closely inspected the current state of preparations in each venue, the organisational department and the respective infrastructure.
