The British downhill skier, Nicholas Moynihan had a very special fan at the giant slalom track: his father, Colin, the President of the British Olympic Association. This almost seventeen-year old young man finished 31st.

How was the race? Were you satisfied with your result?
"It wasn't ideal today. I did not do well in the first round, the second was better, but I know that I can do better next time."
Alpine Skiing is not a typical British sport, how did you get into it?
When I was young I moved to France. I lived in France from the age of two till I was six and I fell in love with Alpine Skiing and I have done it ever since."
Have you ever been to the Czech Republic before?
"Yes, two years ago I went to Říčky in the Orlice Mountains for the giant slalom in Skiinterkriterium race. I have been to some international competitions in the Giant Mountains with the British national team and we had lot of fun, I really liked it."
What are your goals for this year's EYOWF?
"I'm taking part in Thursday’s slalom. I'm going to try my best and I hope the results will follow from that."
Who is your skiing role model?
"Didier Cuche, he is the perfect skier. He is so strong mentally and physically."
What is your future dream?
"I would like to keep on skiing because I like it and enjoy it, I hope it stays the same. I would like to keep improving  and maybe make it to the World Cup.”
